Offset your Carbon Footprint
When you board a plane, drive a car, or even do your laundry it takes a toll on the environment. We encourage you to take measures to minimise your carbon emissions and offset the remainder by planting trees. One tree will offset one ton of carbon over its lifetime. You can also help fund JNF environmental programs to halt desertification, boost water supplies through reservoirs and waste water reclamation, grow crops efficiently in the desert and create green "lungs" around urban areas.
UN Environmental Programme Executive Director Achim Steiner said in August 2009, "With the destruction of natural forests emitting more greenhouse gases every year than the transport sector, planting trees which absorb carbon dioxide and store nearly 300 gigatonnes of carbon in their biomass - is a crucial defence in the fight against global warming."
