On 17th July, 80 golfers participated in the annual JNF UK Senior Masters tournament. Held this year at the exclusive Dyrham Park Country Club, the event saw the participants take on 18 holes to raise money for good causes in Israel.

£18,000 was raised in total. This year the money will be divided between two different projects: the expansion of a music conservatory in Yerucham, and Beit Uri, a residential village for children and adults with multiple disabilities.
With the event being open to golfers over fifty, it also proved that age is no barrier to putting in a good performance on the green. There was a special prize for participants over the age of eighty, and a pair of trophies for the two players over ninety!
One of the highlights of the day was the ‘Beat the Pro’ round. Professional golfer Samantha Head teed off, before the participants were challenged to see if they could get their balls closer to the pin than her.
The tournament was sponsored by Residence Port Tel Aviv. Two other golfing events are being held this summer, with all three expected to raise over £50,000 in total for JNF UK projects.
Yonatan Galon, CEO of JNF UK, commented:
“This was fantastic day that will go towards helping many different Israelis live more fulfilling lives. I want to thank everyone for being so generous and such good sports!”
