JNF UK are excited to announce the winners of the ‘Design your Dreidel Competition’ which launched before Chanukah for children aged 3–11years old. 19 Jewish Primary Schools from across the UK took part, and each child was provided with a Dreidel template to personalise as well as having to complete a sentence on what Chanukah means to them.
Hundreds of entries flooded in with each child providing a picture of their template and holding their 3D design. Competition was fierce. We want to wish a hearty mazeltov to Sophie Reuben, age 4 from Bury and Whitefield Primary School in Manchester, who was the winner of the 3-5 year old age category and overall winner of the entire competition (pictured in the middle). Sophie’s design immediately caught the eye of the judging panel with its creativity and unique interpretation of competition brief; creating her very own Dreidel design made entirely from biscuits! Sophie won a £50 Amazon voucher, £10 doughnut voucher, a framed photograph of her dreidel design and £250 for Bury and Whitefield Primary School to be used for Israel education purposes.
Congratulations also go to the first-place winners Elleni Shane from the 6-8 age group (pictured at the bottom in the middle) and Summer Wise from the 9-11 age group category (pictured top left). Worthy runners include Jonah Levene from the 3-5 category (pictured bottom right), Netta Tzion Goodman from the 6-8 age group category (pictured top right) and Ella Cohen from the 9-11 age group category (pictured bottom left).
