Gvahim International Talent Hub Programme

The Gvahim International Talent Hub Programme brings the brightest, best and most highly skilled new immigrants to the Negev. Its aim is to attract highly educated Olim and their families to the south of the country, helping this area thrive.

Many skilled  Olim choose to settle in communities in Israel’s centre, and at the same time many employers in the Negev find it difficult to attract high-level personnel to the region.

To tackle this problem, Gvahim and Nefesh B’Nefesh joined forces to develop The International Talent Hub Programme aimed at drawing highly skilled Olim from North America and Western Europe to the Negev region of Israel. Gvahim is a non-profit organisation which focuses on making the most of the skills of new immigrants.  Nefesh B’Nefesh is a successful Aliya organisation with many years of experience in matching Olim’s skills to appropriate workplaces and communities around Israel.

Launched at the end of 2016, the programme co-ordinators aim to place 15 professionals from Europe and North America into high-profile positions in hi-tech, academia, and healthcare services in the Negev, within the first year. It is hoped that approximately 40 people will participate during the programme’s first year.

As well as providing funding for the programmes operational costs for two years, JNF UK is proud to be supporting TheHive – another one of Gvahim’s programmes aimed at helping Olim establish their own start-ups.

JNF UK is active in every area of Israeli life. This is just one example how we are fulfilling our mission of drawing new life to the Negev, bettering the lives of those who call the region home.
