Mitzpe Ramon Music Studio

The Mitzpe Ramon music studio will create a space in the south of Israel that will develop local musical culture for adults and children alike. A vibrant Israeli music scene is emerging out of the development towns of the south, so this new facility located in Mitzpe Ramon will provide local musicians with professional equipment and resources to create, practice and upgrade their musical skills. Raphael House Soup Kitchen, Eilat

Eilat is known to many in the UK as a luxury holiday resort, but like many cities there is a lot of poverty that remains invisible to most foreign tourists. Every day, many children go to school hungry, while adults of all ages also struggle to eat. Even those in full time employment can find it hard to make ends meet by the end of the month and consequently struggle to afford basic food. Read More

Amit High School Renovation, Kiryat Malachi

Amit is one of the most run-down high-schools in Kiryat Malachi. The school caters for 405 students in grades 7 to 12, many of whom come from underprivileged backgrounds. Some of the buildings are extremely old and dilapidated without functioning air conditioning (an essential in desert towns). We have an ambitious project to create a pleasant and respectable learning environment by renewing the school’s buildings and facilities. This will have the additional benefit of showing the students that they are worthy of respect and investment, helping them break the cycle of poverty and expand their opportunities. Read More

Ofanim Mobile Classroom

Many children growing up in the Negev region do not have access to quality science education. Ofanim is an organisation which has developed a unique and clever response to this problem by creating mobile laboratories built into old buses. These vehicles are able to travel to remote communities accompanied by teachers of the highest abilities so that local children can enjoy high quality education and extra-curricular activities. Green Sunday Appeal 2017 – Renovating 44 Kindergartens

This Green Sunday 2017, JNF UK has committed to helping 44 kindergartens in need of renovation all across the Negev, including in Yerucham, Kiryat Malachi, Be’er Sheva and Arad. Two of them look after children with special needs. These local communities are sadly under-resourced and unable to provide the best for their children. Read More

Tenufa Bakehila – Supporting low-income families in Kiryat Gat

Tenufa Bakehila (Building Hope) is an Israeli not-for-profit organisation supporting families living in poverty by providing urgent home repairs and social care assistance. Operating in eight cities throughout Israel, the organisation has worked in over 4,000 homes during the last 23 years. JNF UK is working in partnership with Tenufa Bakehila to expand the services they offer in Kiryat Gat in the Northern Negev. Read More
