School Sports Ground Renovation, Arad

Four hundred children attend a state primary school in Arad called Ye’elim Ofarim. Currently there is nowhere for them to play.  The school playground, like the school itself, is very old and rundown — and it recently failed a safety inspection.

The closure was a devastating blow to the school, whose pupils are aged between four and 12. The playground was the heartland of the school, used for football, basketball, and all the outdoor ceremonies associated with the beginnings and end of the school terms.

With the help of JNF UK, the school’s playground will be upgraded to recognised safety standards and re-open as a safe renovated space with the additional improvement of some much needed shade and greenery.

The renovation of Ye’elim Ofarim’s playground is one of a number of projects JNF UK is working on to enhance the town of Arad.

You can help us support more projects like this, ensuring that children have the outdoor facilities they need in which to play and learn in safety, ensuring the next generation of Israelis are being given the right start in life.
